- Scope. What is included: hoods, ducts, fans, accessible flues, behind and beneath equipment. Ask each company to state exclusions in writing.
- Frequency. What interval is each company proposing, and why? Cleaning frequency follows cooking volume and appliance type — a company that asks about your cooking line before quoting is doing its job.
- Paperwork. What documentation arrives after service: a service label or sticker on the hood, a written report, photos, a certificate for your records or insurer. Get the answer before you book.
- Access and cleanup. Roof access, after-hours work, protection for kitchen surfaces, and who handles the grease.
- Total over a year. Price per cleaning × the proposed frequency is the honest comparison — not the headline number on one visit.
